Like many Great British creatives, I was born and raised in the North East of England. From there I made the journey south to Manchester to study a degree in biology. Six years later I emerged as a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours in Design and Art Direction.

My first job offer came not from the glamorous London agency I’d dreamed of, but from a small, provincial outfit across the Pennines in Leeds named PWLC. They may not of had the sexy Soho address, but they more than made up for it with their clients. I cut my teeth on briefs for Sky Bet and Fox’s Biscuits, and success came thick and fast. Within months of my arrival (however coincidental it may have been) PWLC entered Campaign’s Top 30 and I began to pick up awards for my work. After 3 fantastic years, I decided the time was right for a new challenge.

In 2007, without a concrete job offer, I packed my bags and headed for the bright lights of London. Leaving behind the relative comfort and security of Leeds may have been a risk, but as Bobby Kennedy once said, “Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly.”

London, like many things in life, didn’t pan out exactly as I had imagined. Once again the sexy Soho address eluded me, but it was replaced with, in my opinion, something much better – freedom. Since setting up on my own as a fulltime freelancer I’ve worked with an incredible array of clients, from tiny start-ups to huge global brands, and with each come new challenges that ensure I approach each day with a fresh sense of excitement and anticipation.

Graham has an uncanny knack of nailing a brief first time. He just ‘get’s it’ – easy to brief, easy to work with, attentive to feedback and happy to get stuck in at any point of the process. He has a rare ability to work across media and produces ideas that run seamlessly across disciplines. His work is exceptional.

Andy Whitaker
Managing Director, Five Marketing

We have instructed Graham on many matters over the last 18 months, including a full re-brand of the business which involved a name change and web design. His work is of an exceptionally high quality, delivering the right ideas on time. Graham has an uncanny ability to transfer a brief, to design always delivering over and above expectation. He quickly gained an understanding of our very specific market and always provides a design and narrative that is effective. We have had fantastic feedback from clients and the wider market, on our re-brand and all of our new marketing literature, which has directly led to an increase of both our profile and sales. I would, and indeed have, recommended Graham’s services without second thought.

Director, Forths Forensic Accountants

It has been a pleasure to work with Graham. His creativity enhanced the company’s credibility and he was at all times reliable and dedicated to making a contribution to the agency. I have no hesitation in recommending him to you.
